As requested, a list of commands for Realms of Kaos. Note that some commands can only be used by certain people or in certain locations.

targets of most actions can be spelt in full or partially. it is suggested you type at least three letters to prevent the accidental targeting of wrong people.

up, down, north, south, east, west, northeast, southeast, southwest, northwest : moves your character in the indicated direction, if possible.

u, d, n, s, e, w, ne, se, nw, sw : same as above.

/afk : toggles AFK (away from keyboard) mode on and off; people who /page you while you are AFK will recieve a message that you are AFK.

attack NAME : attack person/creature NAME. you cannot attack in town.

a NAME : same as attack:

/appoint NAME : if you are the party leader, this command appoints NAME as the new party leader

/autosneak : rogue ability. makes you attempt to sneak (see below) with every move. You are allowed a number of sneaks equal to your level before you become exhausted.

balance : if you are in a bank, displays how much money you have in that bank account.

buy ITEM : if you are in a shop, attempts to purchase ITEM. ITEM must be spelt in full. buy healing enables you to purchase healing only in a temple of your divinity. buy training enables you to purchase training (gain a level) if you are in the right guild and have enough experience and gold.

b ITEM : same as buy

/backtrack in effect, a backwards stalk on yourself. Allows you to automatically follow your own trail back to you starting location. Note that you may get lost if you "looped" you path. Type /hbacktrack to stop backtracking.

cast SPELL NAME : casts spell SPELL on person/creature NAME

c SPELL NAME : same as cast:

/c : lists everyone in your clan who is online, their current and maximum health, as well as their current location. A single apostophe ( ' ) does the same.

/cc MESSAGE : (clan chat) displays a MESSAGE on clan frequency. (clan only). note that /cc can be replaced by a single apostaphe ( ' ).

/ccreate CLANNAME : for a cost of 10,000 gold, creates a clan of name CLANNAME, with you as clan leader.

/cdisband : dissolves a clan, removing all members. (clan leader only).

/cinvite NAME : invites person NAME to join your clan. (clan leader only)

/cjoin NAME : confirms that you want to join clan, where NAME is the person who /cinvited -ed you. (clan leader only)

/claim # : once you have /registered your character, you will be e-mailed a unique claim number. Type this command followed by the claim number to complete the registration process.

/cremove NAME : removes (kicks) person NAME from your clan. (clan leader only)

/d NAME MESSAGE : directs a MESSAGE to person of NAME. (adds their name in from of your message so everyone knows who you're talking to).

deposit # : if you are in a bank, deposits # amount of gold to your account.

donate #: if you are in a temple, this command donates donates # amount of gold to the temple. Currently, donating does not do anything.

/disband : un-attatches you from a party. if you are party leader, you dissolve the entire party.

g PERSON ITEM : same as give below.

give PERSON ITEM : gives PERSON an item from your inventory. item must be spelled in full.

/hbacktrack : makes you stop /backtracking. see /backtrack above

help : brings up help messages. ? does the same.

/hide : hides you in shadows if you are a rogue class. you cannot be seen on the list of people in the room unless someone activly /SEARCH es for you. attacking whilst hidden enables backstab ability (double damage). doing any action while hidden unhides you.

/hstalk : makes you stop /stalking. see /stalk below.

/hunt : ranger ability. enables a ranger to find food in the wild. (not implemented yet.)

/i NAME : lists the bio of NAME, if they made one.

/idle : brings up a pop-up window where you can enter a number of minutes you are allowed to be inactive before you are kicked off ROK.

/ignore NAME : ignores (blocks) any pages from person NAME.

/invite NAME : invite person NAME to join your party. if you are in a party and not the party leader (first person to /invite) you cannot /invite otheres.

/join : if you have been /invite -ed to a party, type /join to accept and join the party.

look THING : shows a description of person, item or creature THING. if just look is typed, a detailed description of the area is displayed. pressing enter (no typing) also does the same.

L : same as look

list : if you are in a place that sells something, this command displays a list of the things for sale.

/newmove : launches you into the new movement system, where you move by using the cursors. cursor-up moves you forward, cursor left and right makes you face a different direction, cursor down makes you turn around and walk forward. note that this system is still being tested, and is not really working yet. type /newmove again to get out of it.

/news : lists the current system news as posted by the game manager (DungeonMaster).

/page NAME MESSAGE : sends MESSAGE to person NAME, no matter where they are.

/p NAME MESSAGE : same as page.

/party : displays a list of everyone in your current party (if you are in one) and their currant and maximum health.

/pattack: a party command that is used to signal all NPCs in the party (ie tamed, charmed and summoned mosnters) to attack anything that is not in the party.

/pfollow: a party command that is used to make everyone in the party automatically follow the party leader when the leader moves to a new location. Note that in this mode, only the party leader needs equiptment to move through obstacles (ie rope for pits)

/phaltattack: a party command that is used to signal all NPCs (ie tamed, charmed and summoned mosnters) to not attack anything that is not in the party. Note that the NPCs will still attack anything that attacks them.

/phaltfollow: a party that turns off the effect of /pfollow.

/post MESSAGE : if you are in a location with a message board (ie. a tavern), this will post your MESSAGE on the board.

/purge SPELLNAME : this erases a spell from your spell scroll. This command is useful when you reach your limit of 20 spells, to free up room for a new spell.

/read : if you are in a location with a message board (ie. a tavern), this command will bring up a window with the message board.

/register EMAIL registers your EMAIL address with the server, sending a confirmation email to the email address given.

r SUBJECT : same as research. see research below.

research SUBJECT : if you are in an academia, this commands allows you to reseach a SUBJECT in the books of the academia. Try typing the names of gods or spells to gain interesting info on them.

/rob NAME : thief command. attempt to steal money from person NAME. you gain experience for robbing.

/s: this command tells you how many players are currently online, and how many have connected during the day.

/save: this command saves your player information. The server usually saves information on a regular basis, and when you exit the game. doing a /save in a tavern ensures that you will respawn in that tavern when you get killed.

/search : search the area for any hidden people or for any objects out of the ordinary.

sell ITEM : sells ITEM from your inventory if you are in a store that will buy the item.

/setidle #: this will set the amount of minutes you are allowed to be idle before you are automatically logged off the server by the system.

smell : gives a description of the general smell of the location you are in. can give clues to hidden places...

sneak DIRECTION : rogue command. attempts to move you into the location in the indicated DIRECTION without showing you entering the new location or leaving the current one. anyone who tries to look around will see any sneaky characters. You are allowed a number of sneaks equal to your level before you become exhausted.

/staff : gives you a handy list of all the staff members that are online.

/stalk NAME: (note that the full name must be typed): an assassin, ranger and druid ability. If a person of NAME has recently traveled through your location, /stalk will automatically /track that person and move in the direction they went. This automatically continues for every location until you come upon the person's location or lose their trail. You cannot track someone who is levitating (through the mages airwalk spell and you cannot track someone who has used sneak to move around. Type /hstalk to stop stalking.

steal NAME : thief command. you attempt to steal gold from person NAME.

/tame CREATURE : ranger ability that attempts to bring creature of name CREATURE under your control. success depends on level of creature and yourself.

/telegram : checks your telegrams, if you have any waiting. this command can only be used in a tavern.

/track NAME : ranger command. tells you if person/creature NAME was in the area recently, and which way they went (still a little buggy).

/u : displays a list of everyone online, as well as their clan affiliation and if they are a warden. (command no longer used).

/users : same as /u. (command no longer used)

use ITEM : uses the ITEM from your inventory. the full item name must be typed. ie. "use topaz potion"

/whisper NAME MESSAGE : sends a whisper MESSAGE to person NAME that only they can read. MUST be in same room to whisper.

/w NAME MESSAGE : same as /whisper

withdraw # : if you are in a bank, withdraws # amount of gold from your account (only if you have that much gold in the account).



kick, push, pull : verb actions that when proceded by an item name may trigger an event, such as opening a secret staircase or triggering a pit. ie push statue, pull candlestick.

bow, disagree, duel, eye, giggle, greet, grin, grumble, hug, kiss, laugh, lol, nod, pat, psd, rofl, salute, sigh, slap, smack, smile, smirk, smooch, taunt, wave : fun actions that simply add depth and fun to the game. try typing them on their own or preceding someone's name to do the action.

/me TEXT : this flexible command allows you to create any action sentance starting with your name. Simply start the sentence with /me. ie. /me does a victory dance that looks like the macarena
